Random Coimbra pictures October 2023

While staying in Coimbra, these are pictures I took.  See each for explanation.  We lived in the historic center, near the University.   I LOVED Coimbra.  It is a bustling city, medium-sized.  Has all of the conveniences of modern life, while still retaining it's medieval history (university 1290).  It is a "young" city thanks to students at the Uni, but has such charm (history).  If I were to live in Coimbra, I would choose another neighborhood-- probably missing the walkability of the historic center...oh well.

Down in Baixa- near the river- a group of cafes.
So beautiful

A random door down the street from our apartment.
I think it is another church?

See the neighborhood across the water Santa Clara

The Water Company-- see the gate to the right? That's the entrance to the Botanical Garden

Walking on the path in the Botanical Garden from Baixa to Alta
(I did this many mornings-- amazing)

From the University- the Alta

Us on the Mondego River kayaking trip

View from Alta (of the Mondego River)

Again, from the kayak
